GOALS

Pleiades or Seven Sisters is an open star cluster located in the constellation of Taurus. It is among the nearest star clusters to Earth and is the cluster most obvious to the naked eye in the night sky. Pleiades in Indian astrology were known as the Nakshatra. In Therosophy, it is believed the Seven Stars of the Pleiades focus the spiritual energy of the seven rays.

Further in antiquity, the classical planets the non-fixed objects visible in the sky by naked eyes - the Sun and Moon with the five non-earth planets Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn are closest to the Earth. Together they form they also name the seven days of the week - Sun-day, Moon-day, Saturn-day; and in Latin - 'Martis' (Mars, Tuesday), 'Mercurii' (Wednesday), 'Iovis' (Jupiter, Thursday) and 'Veneris' (Venus, Friday).

So does ‘Sun Shine – A Ray of Hope’ (SSROH) sets to focus its energy in entirety through its seven goals to be attained for the betterment of society we live in.

GOAL 1.   Eradicate poverty and hunger.

GOAL 2.   Provision of universal education

GOAL 3.   Promote gender equality and empower women

GOAL 4.   Reduce child mortality rate and improve maternal health.

GOAL 5.  Combat communicable diseases like HIV, AIDS, hepatitis B, cholera, malaria, etc and other health                 related issues.

GOAL 6.   Work for environment sustainability.

GOAL 7.   Global partner in development of the society.


PROJECTS


PROJECT JAGRITI – THE AWAKENING

Project Jagriti was conceived and launched on 07 April 2011 in state of Maharashtra, two days after the birth of Sun Shine – A Ray of Hope (SSROH) to achieve its Goal 1 (eradicate poverty and hunger), Goal 2 (Provision of universal education), Goal 3 (promote gender equality and empower women), Goal 4 (reduce child mortality rate and improve maternal health), Goal 5 (combat communicable diseases and other health related issues), Goal 6 (work for environment sustainability) and Goal 7 (global partner in development of the society). The project shall bring in awakening for ideological, social, political and economic changes in the society through various programs like rallies, debates, painting competitions, etc with a bigger participation for bigger impact aiming both direct and indirect beneficiaries.


PROJECT SAMRIDDHI – ERADICATING POVERTY AND HUNGER

Project Samriddhi launched by Sun Shine – A Ray of Hope (SSROH) on the Labour Day, 01 May 2011 to help the unemployed youths from the poor and needy families in obtaining employment for self sustenance and self dependency to uplift their social status. Men and women of all age groups from poor family with no source of income were made aware with various government and non-government employment schemes and avenues. They were also imparted with tailor made training and groomed to instill the basic skills enabling them to partake in India’s economic growth. SSROH aims to achieve our Goal 1 (eradicate poverty and hunger), Goal 3 (promote gender equality and empower women), Goal 6 (work for environment sustainability) and Goal 7 (global partner in development of the society).


PROJECT BULAND BHARAT – NATION BUILDING

Project Buland Bharat was launched by ‘Sun Shine – A Ray of Hope’ (SSROH) on 20 May 2011 to strengthen the nation by bringing in all round development in the person and the society per se in the fields of sports, grooming genext in communication skills, soft skills and personality development and identification of their SWOT to make them a responsible citizen. SSROH through Project Buland Bharat aims to achieve its Goal 1 (eradicate poverty and hunger), Goal 2 (provision of universal education), Goal 3 (promote gender equality and empower women), Goal 4 (reduce child mortality rate and improve maternal health), Goal 5 (combat communicable diseases and other health related issues), Goal 6 (work for environment sustainability) and Goal 7 (global partner in development of the society).


PROJECT SWABHIMAAN – BUILDING SELF ESTEEM

Project Swabhimaan, an initiative by ‘Sun Shine – A Ray of Hope’ (SSROH) was conceived and launched on 12 June 2011 in the state of Maharashtra with an aim to add grandeur to ones persona, confidence, respect and make them stand with head held high in the society. The collective effort to prevent social evils shall certainly end it. Hence, SSROH has taken a step to end the sexual abuse and assault on campus of schools, colleges, work place and home. In the year 2012-13, we reached Old Aged Homes and Orphanages, to make them feel as respected part of this society. SSROH under ‘Project Swabhimaan’ aims to achieve, Goal 2 (provision of universal education), Goal 3 (promote gender equality and empower women)and Goal 7 (global partner in development of the society) of SSROH.


PROJECT GUNI BAHU – EMPOWERING THE WOMEN

Project Guni Bahu was conceived by SSROH on 15 June 2011 in the state of Uttar Pradesh with the aim to achieve its Goal 1 (eradicate poverty and hunger), Goal 3 (promote gender equality and empower women),   Goal 6 (work for environment sustainability) and Goal 7 (global partner in development of the society). The program under Project Guni Bahu shall prepare women of the area to become self sustained and self dependent to uplift the social status of women through its Entrepreneurship Skill Development programme. Women from poor family with no or negligible source of income were motivated to come forward to utilize their skills to financially support their families.
